It Begins Tomorrow

Nick & I both arrived in Portland without any snags. Our shuttle to Forest Grove was a bit late but I remembered the advice my son gave me last night when I was finishing packing my gear. “Remember Dad to enjoy the trip. Interesting things happen when your plans are altered by circumstances.” Good advice from a son to a dad.

Donna and Bob at the Oak Tree Bed & Breakfast have been more than accommodating. They took good care of our bikes after they arrived from being shipped. We spent the afternoon putting the bikes together then took a short ride (about 14 MI round trip) into the next town for dinner.

Nick and I met for the first time today and we will be spending the next six weeks together. From what I have seen so far Nick is a centered young man with a lot of promise. I have faith that we will work well together.

Tomorrow AM we head for the coast.
